SAIL Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response:
The SAIL Board of Directors is closely monitoring local Covid-19 rates and considering all guidance from local and national health officials to determine when regular SAIL activities will resume. There continue to be many inquiries regarding SAIL membership and activities. We want to carefully balance the opportunity for both while prioritizing the health and safety of our members.
As the new academic year approaches, the Board has opened the calendar to allow for limited events that follow all state and local guidelines. If possible, we recommend holding group activities in an online forum or outside. We understand that every family will make choices that are right for them, and we encourage our members to interact with each other as safely as possible. Choosing to participate in activities will be done at each person's own risk as SAIL assumes no liability.
As of July 1, 2020, SAIL will resume accepting online membership applications for new members. While attendance at a SAIL Monthly Gathering Park Day is typically a prerequisite for SAIL membership, the new member meeting that normally takes place at that gathering will be hosted by the SAIL Membership Team online until all Covid-19 precautions are lifted. Please refer to the Join SAIL page for additional membership information. Questions may be directed to Membership@SAILHomeschoolers.org
Thank you for your understanding,
SAIL Board of Directors
Kevin, Piper, Aaron, Judith and Erin
What is SAIL?
SAIL is a member-governed, inclusive community of homeschooling families in the McKinney, Texas area. We encourage and respectfully support a membership diverse in homeschool style, race, religion, life philosophy, political views, and family composition and situation. We endeavor to provide a safe, welcoming environment for varied student activities, both group-wide and age-specific; from toddlers to teens and for all levels of abilities and ranges of needs. We provide a network of support for the entire homeschool family by offering some activities only for parents, as well as events that include all family members.
